Hardwood Door & Bevel began in 1982 in a small Auburn Hills workshop with one table saw, one jointer, and a stubborn belief that American-made doors could rival the finest in the world. Four decades later, that workshop has grown — but the belief hasn't changed a bit.
We don't buy doors to resell. We don't drop-ship. We don't outsource the parts that matter. Every door that leaves our shop is built, finished, glazed, hung, and packed by people whose names are on the work.
From the lumber yard in Indiana to the beveled glass cut in our own studio, the supply chain is short and visible. We can tell you, in detail, where every part of your door came from and who shaped it.

Larry plays a central role in both sales and operations at HDB Doors. He coordinates the shop, schedules door production and installations, and helps oversee projects from the initial order through completion.
Kevin works in both sales and day-to-day operations at HDB Doors. He helps customers with their projects while coordinating the details behind the scenes, keeping orders organized and making sure projects continue moving in the right direction.
Nick leads the construction and assembly of our custom door units. He is responsible for turning each project's specifications into a properly built, carefully assembled door system ready for finishing and installation.
Mike handles our in-house wood finishing process. From surface preparation and staining to the final clear coat, he is responsible for creating and protecting the finished appearance of the doors that leave our shop.
Simon leads HDB Doors' glass department and brings years of experience to our custom glasswork. He cuts and fabricates glass for our doors and windows, including the custom leaded glass designs that have long been a specialty of HDB Doors.
Jimmy works alongside Simon in our glass department, helping produce the custom glass and window designs incorporated into our doors. His years of experience with HDB Doors contribute to the craftsmanship behind each custom glass project.
Austin serves as one of HDB Doors' primary installers, handling the field installation of our wood and iron door systems. His work helps ensure each door is properly set, aligned, adjusted, and operating correctly before the project is completed.
Robert works alongside Austin on door installations and supports Nick with door construction and assembly in the shop. His role allows him to contribute to projects both during production and at the final installation.
